The Unthanks play their new Emily Brontė Song Cycle in front of a live audience.

Commissioned by the Brontė Society in Haworth, West Yorks, to mark Emily Bronte’s 200th Birthday, Yorkshire born Unthanks pianist and composer Adrian McNally has turned a selection of her poems into song, performed and arranged with bandmates Rachel and Becky Unthank.

McNally created the songs using Emily Bronte's piano which is still housed in the Parsonage Museum in Haworth where she lived and worked. The Unthanks plan to release recordings made on site with Emily's piano, later this year. The only live performance of this new work currently planned promises to be an atmospheric and unique collaboration with a literary great.

As special guests at this show we have the brand new collaboration between Sarah Hayes and Field Music's Peter Brewis.

As one half of Field Music, Peter Brewis has been honing the craft of pop songwriting for almost fifteen years, whilst Sarah Hayes has been exploring contemporary folk in her solo work, and the world of indie-pop via her band Admiral Fallow. After meeting at a Kate Bush celebration concert, the pair bonded over a shared love of artists such as The Blue Nile, Jon Brion, Rufus Wainwright, Tortoise and Randy Newman. Initially they planned for Peter to produce a Sarah Hayes album but this quickly evolved into a new act being formed. Their debut self-titled album is set to be released in January on Memphis Industries and single Clarion Call can be heard here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZzucnjGF2w
